So much has happened over the last week or so. First Davy got sick and had to stay with my parents to keep Evangeline from getting sick too. Then Evangeline and I got sick as well. Thankfully Evangeline did not get sick enough to land her in the hospital. According to her doctor we would need to take her to the hospital if she had a fever of 100.4 or more or if she started wheezing when she breathed. Thankfully neither happened and other than some scary coughing fits she has been ok. I think today she is finally beginning to get better. Davy stayed with my parents until yesterday. He ended up getting an ear infection and is on antibiotics. He seems to be feeling a lot better now. It has been so good to have our little boy back home with us again!
After a lot of crying and worry and stress over everything I finally went in to my doctor and asked for some anti-depressants, I must say that I feel a good deal better now that I have started them. I am no longer constantly on the verge of tears, and I seem to feel a lot more on top of everything. I have been sick with the same cold that Davy and Eva have and have been miserable because of it. I have been trying to get sleep when I can and have been gradually getting better as well. This whole week has been filled with temperature takings, coughing, sneezing, lots of doctor visits and some helpful medicine. I will be so happy when we are all feeling better again.

Sick
There is something terrifying about the idea of your child being sick. Maybe it is just post pregnancy hormones, who knows but yesterday was not an easy day for me. It started out in the morning, Davy was playing with some toys and so I went into the kitchen to get some food together for his breakfast. Kevin was sleeping on the couch so I figured that everything would be ok. I came back and thought that Davy looked like he might have something in his mouth so I did a finger swipe through his mouth to check. I thought I felt something but he swallowed it before I could get it, if I did feel anything at all. Shortly thereafter he started acting really tired (which was uncommon for the time of day) and we put him down for his nap. After he woke up from his nap I noticed that he was feeling kind of hot so I took his temperature and discovered that he had a fever. I ended up calling up the doctor and they had me come in right away for an x-ray for the possibility of a swallowed object. After a horrific time at the doctors where he got an x-ray, and had a flu test done to see if he had the flu we found that there was nothing to be seen on the x-ray and he did not have the flu. However the doctor did advise us to keep him away from Evangeline until he was 24 hours without a fever. So my mom took him home with her.
Needless to say yesterday was a very stressful, tear filled day for me. I was worried about my little boy, that he might have swallowed something that could hurt him, that he might have the flu, and worried about my little girl that she might have caught whatever it was that Davy had and would end up with a fever and in the hospital on IVs. Today I have had a few scares with Evangeline because our temporal thermometer (which you use on her forehead) has given me a few high measurements. However when I have double checked with an anal thermometer I have gotten regular readings. I just hate checking her temp anally, but it is the most accurate way and I don't want to take her into the ER without being sure that her temperature is high risk. All in all it has been stressful on me.

My body makes no sense
Pregnancy, it comes with all the happy fun symptoms. Back pain, hip pain, breast pain, pain when your uterus stretches, leg pain...why do I feel like there is a common theme here? Oh there is also moodiness (so you become a pain to others), and tiredness, and forgetfulness, and...am I forgetting something here? Oh yes! The most famous (or infamous) symptom of all, Morning Sickness. Although, as any pregnant woman who has experienced morning sickness knows, it does not only come in the morning. It comes at all times of the day. So here you are, your body is telling you that you are starving. So you go to get food, but your stomach is telling you that pretty much any food you make for yourself will make you hurl it up in the face of any offending person who comes your way, or if that fails into the toilet, sink or whatever receptical you can find. And yet you are hungry, ravenously hungry. So you go to make some food, and now your new and improved super sniffer comes into play. Suddenly the food that you thought might work now smells like last week's garbage (well not really but that is what your stomach is telling you it smells like) and now the food is no longer an option. So you find some small but scentless food option and eat it before that sickness becomes too much and you do end up vomiting. And the morning sickness goes away for a short while. Because though the morning sickness can sometimes be banned by food if you don't eat enough it can sometimes come back, very quickly.
So here to come down to the title, my body makes no sense. One would think that to keep from feeling sick you would stay away from offending items, but those items help keep the sickness away, but only sometimes and only for just so long.
Either way, I have been plenty nauseous this go round, but not vomiting yet. I take that as a good sign and will try not to tempt fate. And in the mean time I will try to find ways to inflict less pain (yeah right) and eat what I can.

1st Ultrasound
My first ultrasound will be on May 18th, I will be 7 weeks along at that point. Hopefully I will also be able to find out whether I am having twins or not. I am still on the progesterone shots and will probably be on them until I am about 10 weeks along, that is quite a bit of time still. The progesterone is making my backside numb in the areas where I have gotten the shot. The nurse said this is normal. It is a good bit weird but it also tends to work out well because in some areas Kevin doesn't even need to worry about hurting me because I can not feel the needle even go in anymore.
In other news I have been dealing with back pain like crazy, my neck and shoulders are super tense and have been sending jolts of pain down my arms. I have been feeling morning sickness for weeks now but have not yet gotten to the point of throwing up. I am kind of happy for that. It is kind of weird, I have basically told everyone about our pregnancy, except the people at work. I probably will not tell them until I hit the "safe" zone where miscarriage is pretty much not going to happen. And they wont really notice since I don't come in very often.

Still sick
This morning I brushed my teeth during my morning routine and when I began to spit my stomach went all the way. Early morning vomiting seems to effect me less than midday vomiting. I can shake off the shakes, and wipe away the tears, and go about my day. I still feel like I could use a nap though. Which doesn't help when I am tired. Which I am always tired.
I bought chicken fingers and onion rings last night, because they both sounded super tasty and I was hungry. Turns out I couldn't handle the smell of the onion rings. The chicken fingers I ate with nothing on them. Sometimes BBQ sauce is too much for me too, and Ranch dressing seems to have become my enemy.
I want ice cream, and I know I have some cherry vanilla at home waiting for me. The idea of a Wendy's frosty sounds very appealing as well. Other than that nothing sounds good. It seems to be a vicious cycle, I find myself having to eat, but nothing sounds good, so I eat very little of what I can handle, until I am at least a little full, hoping it will last longer than what it will, soon, too soon though my stomach is making sounds again and I find myself having to eat. Then throw in that everytime my stomach is empty it punishes me by making me nauseous. Makes sense right? Stomach empty so throw up whatever might be in there. No, you are right, it makes no sense what so ever.
But, no icecream for me. I have a beef tamalie waiting for me for lunch, that and a can of ginger ale. Can I make it that long though? The sour candies that I brought to keep my stomach calm say no. The crackers tell me they are not for me. I hate food, why does it always turn on me just when I thought I could trust it. I am not looking forward to the day when the tamalies turn on me. They have been a reliable lunch food, I don't know where I will go when they betray me.
It is odd, it is this week that things are supposed to get better, I am supposed to start feeling better, I should stop feeling sick and everything should be all happy. But no, things are getting worse instead. I seriously fear that I may have another six months of this.
